Welcome to Daily Thautism (We Just Deployed This Thing 5 Minutes Ago)

So here we are. Daily Thautism is officially live on the internet, which means I can now add "DevOps Engineer" to my LinkedIn even though I spent the last hour debugging why Nginx couldn't find SSL certificates that were literally right there.

What is this place?

This is Daily Thautism – a blog about living with ADHD and autism that I discovered I had in my late 30s and early 40s respectively. You know, that fun period of life where you're supposed to have everything figured out, and instead you're like "oh THAT'S why I've been like this."

The name? Thautism = Thoughts + Autism. Yes, I'm aware it sounds like a speech impediment. No, I will not be changing it.

Who am I?

I'm JD. I have:

• A Master's in Computer Science (3.9 GPA, because hyperfocus is a hell of a drug)
• ADHD (discovered late, explained everything)
• Autism (ASD diagnosis in my 40s, double explained everything)
• Strong opinions about Docker container orchestration
• A 550+ day Duolingo streak learning Mandarin that I'm unreasonably proud of

I work in AI/cybersecurity, practice martial arts, and apparently now run a blog about neurodivergence.

Technical note for the nerds:

This entire site is running on:

• Docker (7 containers because why not)
• PostgreSQL (we're fancy)
• Redis (gotta go fast)
• Celery (background tasks, baby)
• Nginx with SSL (that green padlock took an HOUR to debug)
• DigitalOcean droplet ($14.40/month)

I deployed this with Claude (the AI) while debugging certificate paths close to midnight. The redirect loop at the end nearly broke me. But we got there.

Coming soon:

An Instagram auto-poster that uses Claude API to generate captions so I never have to manually post content again. Because if there's one thing ADHD hates, it's repetitive social media tasks.
